I have essentially “avoided watching the news” for the last 2 years because of how disgusted it made me feel. People have kindly emailed me what I really needed to know about “breaking news stories.” However, I don’t think I can “look away” any longer, but in doing so, I will make fun of it the best I can through this once-a-month new series called Fantasy Island Reality.

totally agree. My first wife (Nitza) was 1/2 Cuban. Her mom (100% Cuban, and almost 90% speaking Spanish still today) got married and out of Cuba just before Castro (puppet) took his turn on the World Stage.
We married in 92′ and I remember the stories of her mom still sending money to her family in Cuba, they traveled there every so often, way before “it opened back up”.

Catholic missions do tremendous good in the world. Research it. Mother Teresa was Catholic. Go to your local Catholic Church and see the good they are doing for their own community.
I also wanted to say Matt’s idea that this is a realm dominated by evil to take a person away from their true spiritual nature is a very Catholic/Christian idea.

I loved the format. I don’t watch news but I hear snippets from friends and family and it’s nice to be able to roll my eyes and laugh out loud along with you. Gets my vote👍

Big time trigger memory: I was about 10, used to spend Fri nights with Grandma & Grampa. Went to Giant Eagle (some will remember that) for groceries, then back in time for my favorite ever show on the black & white, small screen, 77 Sunset Strip. “Kooky, Kooky, lend me your comb”. Gramdma always had pepsi for me (never allowed back at my house). This of course is decades before Fantasy Island, but the story is still the same. It probably repeats now as we speak.

I am a bit reluctant to admit this, but I have a few answers surrounding Vicky’s ability to sail the seas on The Love Boat as a young teenager. Vicky was the daughter of Captain Merrill Stubing.
There was a specific episode where a lady representing Vicky’s school hopped on board the boat to evaluate whether Vicky was going to be allowed to continue her classwork with the assistance of the crew, or whether she would be forced to return to her mother’s home and attend school traditionally. Vicky of course wanted to party on the high seas with all the love starved adults like most young teens would choose over traditional school any day.
Well, the crew went out of their way to impress this school representative on behalf of Vicky, but the more they tried to persuade her of Vicky being in good hands with them it just continually resulted in more problems. Can’t you just picture Gopher making a fool of himself in front of this ‘secret’ evaluator while trying to impress her? I’m pretty sure that occurred on this episode.
Of course, the interference by each crew member was leading to an absolute ‘no’ by this evaluator, unless you had never watched an episode of The Love Boat and knew ahead of time that everything works itself it out in the final few minutes.
And that is exactly what happens when the evaluator recognizes the love and care the crew have for this amazing young Vicky, including her father Captain Stubing, and the end result is the very predictable approval for Vicky to sail away and study on her own time. Of course, the logistics of how her work will continually be evaluated and tests administered is never addressed in this pre-Internet world. But who worries about such details when watching The Love Boat?

Have you wondered Matt if this ‘notnilc’ isn’t has nefarious as you might think and instead is simply a vehicle for the eternal soul to have as many varied physical and/or psychological experiences as possible, regardless of the human misery that results?
There are multiple NDEs that strongly indicate that suffering is both intentional and agreed upon before incarnation. Assuming this is true, then this explains why the world never seems to improve – because if it improved for everyone it wouldn’t be a difficult enough experience to be worth incarnating into – at least for a certain percentage of souls who agree to those increased levels of suffering. From our human perspective this can be difficult to comprehend as anything other than malevolent, but from the eternal soul perspective it may just be fun n’ games. I struggle to agree with such a theory but I’m willing to accept it as a possibility.

I like the fantasy Island news set up! It’s somehow diffuses the impact and allows a funny twist to be seen in the whole clown show presentation. I also had some thoughts about stalled century. It seems that at this current time in history the largest population of people are those that were born post World War II. I.e. the baby boomers. All of the things that are stuck in our current culture appear to be things that were mostly thumped and pushed forward by that group of people. As long as they are still such a big force of the conscious collective, perhaps all of the things that are currently stalled will continue. My guess is that once the majority of these begin to die off(or be killed off by the whopper computer system), that all of the Vanna White incarnations, rockin rollers etc. will begin to disappear and a whole new wave of next century BS will begin. It also gets into the chicken or the egg question, however it has just occurred to me that this may be a possibility. There are people in their 60s and 70s attending hardcore concerts that they attended in our teens and 20s almost as if no time has passed. Would love to hear your thoughts and comments on this. I like your ideas about the stalled century and the baby boomers. Many BB are a nostalgic people who are constantly trying to relive something from their youth. It is the Dreams of Thousands of Baby Boomers which is manifesting the stalled century.

I was born in 61′ and was surprised how many people, friends (former friends) that were / still are obsessed with the 60s / 70s music (yeah I get it, it was great). If you look at the history of Haiti, as a French colony the native slave population was brutalized terribly. During their war of independence the French were absolutely horrible but couldn´t win. In turn, the Haitian massacred all the whites they found (minus the Polish soldiers and their families, true story). A few friends and I used to call the loons seen on the streets, (as in arguing with lamp posts, beating up a road sign, wandering around screaming etc.) as paid street theatre acts. Hi, Matt. In response to your question, I like this format. Please continue to post these types of videos here. I don’t watch the news, so I appreciate your finding the relevant stuff. I just can’t stand watching it or reading the paper, not that it was ever enjoyable.
I used to make myself watch/read it because my father said, “You should know what’s going on in the world.” Well, “The News” is anything but. I’m a lot happier without it.
