Who writes song lyrics like that? I mean that is more macabre than frickin metal music. Idk… that seems like trash to me… I wouldn’t purchase it. Im not gonna search it out on YouTube to listen to it either. It is creepy though. STING sucks and, I used to enjoy the band The POLICE, but Now it’s like… meh. Thanks Matt!
Yep, they do the whole soul transfer thing from Being John Malkovich.
I have thought about the possibility of fame and fortune being a support mechanism for the role player entities doing sequential earth-bound marathons. Imagine if you had to do these stretches like us average Joes who are at or near the bottom of the food chain trying to make it day to day in this Notnilc Wonderland.
Hi Matt.
I didn’t know about this Sting concert. When I looked it up today it is presented as happening later in the evening with the song “Fragile” being added in because of the 9/11 event earlier that morning. In the live YouTube video of the song being performed, Sting even says a few words about the events that took place. This is very different contextual framing than the concert happening during 9/11.
So either this is some kind of Mandela Effect situation OR someone back in the day managed to put out incorrect information about this concert and it took root in the conspiracy circles.
Not sure if you’re of the ME-afflicted camp as am I, but I don’t even think in terms of things being a possible “ME” when I come upon something anymore.
I say this because there’s simply been too many things at this point – I don’t think one week passes where I don’t happen upon at least one bizarre finding. For me, in particular, I’ve come to feel as though I must’ve been living under a rock for the better part of the 80s and 90s. I seem to have missed countless movies and songs and bands, in general. Oh, historical events is another genre where I’m always hearing of events I have zero previous recall of.
I’ve never heard this song before – I must have missed your previous video on it. It’s absolutely stunning and I’m with you, Matt.
The 17 year old YouTube upload has at least 32K likes – disappointed it wasn’t 33, lol.
Lyrics: 1000 Years
A thousand years, a thousand more,
A thousand times a million doors to eternity
I may have lived a thousand lives, a thousand times
An endless turning stairway climbs
To a tower of souls
If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars,
The towers rise to numberless floors in space
I could shed another million tears, a million breaths,
A million names but only one truth to face
A million roads, a million fears
A million suns, ten million years of uncertainty
I could speak a million lies, a million songs,
A million rights, a million wrongs in this balance of time
But if there was a single truth, a single light
A single thought, a singular touch of grace
Then following this single point , this single flame,
The single haunted memory of your face
I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head
I may be numberless, I may be innocent
I may know many things, I may be ignorant
Or I could ride with kings and conquer many lands
Or win this world at cards and let it slip my hands
I could be cannon food, destroyed a thousand times
Reborn as fortunes child to judge another’s crimes
Or wear this pilgrims cloak, or be a common thief
I’ve kept this single faith, I have but one belief
I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head
On and on the mysteries unwind themselves
Eternities still unsaid
till you love me
The lines “I still love you / I still want you” were about Peter Stuyvesant cigarettes. Despite having given up smoking a year or so prior, Sting still missed the compelling smoke of a Stuyvesant enough to sing about it. You head it here first.
HEARD it here first… edit feature seems to be non-functional.
The concert in Tuscany was in the evening though, it doesn’t seem to happen at the same time as the morning event. It would have been 3 pm and not dark yet. He addresses the “horrific events in the morning” as appearing to be earlier and not occurring simultaneously…But, if I’m wrong on the timeline, someone tell me. However, despite that, was it all planned. Of course. I’m sure those lyrics were created (not by Sting) with the events in mind. And they needed to generate some sadness and fear within Europe on the same day of course. Like Sting really cared.
I used to listen to Sting so much and saw him in concert in Germany, NL, and US twice. Once I flew his wife Trudie and she gave me front row tickets at MSG in NY. But, I was living in the illusion then. I realized this about A Thousand Years maybe 3 years ago and I know its all Saturnian based, and having flown his family, butler etc, I know what they worship…
The song seems to have a David Lynch vibe about it, to me.
